We give players opportunities to experience the professionalism and mentality involved with a top football academy. At Dee Why FC we believe in creating better football through hard work, desire, commitment, quality training and quality coaching for players who love to learn. We are pleased and excited to bring this academy to this and surrounding areas of the MWFA.

About Dee Why FC Academy

Dee Why Academy provides the opportunity to play and train in a developmental programme where players are challenged, always have the opportunity to learn in a fun and safe environment.

Our U9 to U12 programme is team based set under the guidance of the FFA model, delivered by highly qualified coaches.
Players will be developed in the following areas:

  • Striking the ball – including: shooting, passing (long and short) & crossing
  • First touch – controlling the ball with all body parts
  • 1v1 – both in attacking and defending situations
  • Running with the ball – at speed, with space, without space & protecting, changing direction

These 4 key components will be delivered in high intensity training sessions where players will be encouraged to express themselves whilst playing with a smile on their faces.

What’s included in the Academy package – $990 (introductory offer)

  • 2x training session per week (75-90min sessions based on age)
  • 1x Game day coaching per week
  • 1 x Free Holiday Camp (April)
  • Registration to representative tournament ‘Kanga Cup’ held in Canberra (an extra holiday camp if you cannot make it)

Coach profiles

Ryan Doidge

Head Coach: Ryan Doidge

Coaching Qualifications: FFA ‘A’ licence (part 1), FFA B licence, FA level 2, NSCAA Level 2 Goal Keeping, BSc Sport Science with Coaching

Coaching Background: Ryan has coached over 13 years in several different countries with numerous professional football clubs, most notably the ‘New York Red Bulls’ from the MLS in the USA where he worked for 3 years in their ‘Regional Development School’ for youth players, and most recently for the ‘North Shore Mariners’ in the NPL working with their U18 squad and heading up the game training department (U13-U16).

Having already worked with professional and representative players, Ryan has already started collaborating with the FFA helping to deliver FFA C licence and B licence accreditation to other coaching candidates. He hopes to bring this experience and professionalism with him to the Dee Why Academy.


Academy Coach: Bojan Nikic

Coaching Qualifications: FFA B licence (part 1), FFA C licence

Coaching Background: Bojan has worked for numerous years coaching football. Currently Bojan is the head coach for one off the DYFC Academy programmes ‘MURU Football’ ( Bojan has worked for DYFC in both the junior and youth spaces and has a great knowledge in these areas. Presently finishing his FFA ‘B’ licence Bojan brings a wealth of knowledge to the Academy.
